Free From Festival - Saturday, 4th December 2021
Title: ‘How to have a gluten-free Christmas!‘ (DEMO) with coeliac expert & mentor Ali Walsh.
When? 11.15 am on Saturday, 4th December.
Wondering how on earth you’ll survive Christmas gluten-free?
Ali Walsh is here with top tips!
Ali’s been coeliac for over 20 years. That’s two decades of expertise poured into an hour’s masterclass on gluten-free cooking, socialising and navigating Xmas in general (like pesky relatives who don’t understand why you can’t “just eat it this once”).
Ali will show you how to master quick and easy alternatives for Christmas food that’s traditionally made with gluten.
As well as easing your gluten-free Christmas burdens, with Ali’s help you’ll soon be king of the kitchen, winning over even the most sceptical of relatives on the big day.
All recipes will be dairy-free, safe for coeliacs and have vegan options.
Ali Walsh is the founder of Life on a Rice Cake, a website for people with coeliac disease, and firmly believes there is a way to make life easier, no matter how difficult things might seem.
Ali owns her own gluten-free cake business, writes for Gluten-Free Heaven and regularly appears on BBC radio.
She lives in Bristol with her husband and two naughty little people who love covering themselves in chocolate.
Meet the Maker with founders of Jake’s Boost and Troo Foods

Super Boost Lentil Pate is a great alternative to hummus, with our nut and seed butter giving it some extra delicious nutty flavour, and makes ideal accompaniment to drinks and nibbles at your upcoming festive get togethers.
Packed with healthy fats and protein, creamy and delicious savoury, it’ll also work well as a vegan sandwich spread any day of the year.

Title: ‘Free From Festive Teatime Treats – Festive Tart Tatin & No-Eggnog’ (DEMO) with writer & recipe developer, Rebecca Smith.
When? 13:30 on Saturday 4th December.

About Rebecca: Rebecca, aka Glutarama creates recipes that are simple to follow with great results. No need for fancy ingredients or stressfully long instructions. Life’s a drama, gluten free doesn’t have to be. With a teenage daughter with Coeliac Disease, Type 1 Diabetes and Autism and ADHD and a son with Autism and ADHD life is never dull. Throw into the mix the fact Rebecca is intolerant to many foods including eggs and dairy and you’d expect to have a challenge on your hands. No challenge is too big for Rebecca though!

Title: ‘Christmas Gluten Free Cookalong’ (DEMO) with recipe developer and founder of the Free From Fairy, Vicki Montague.
When? 14.45 on Saturday, 4th December
Description: Join Vicki in her kitchen as she shows you how to make homemade mince meat, shortcrust pastry and mince pies along with some easy gluten free, vegan gingerbread and bread rolls. If you want to cook with her make sure you’ve got all your ingredients weighed out at the start of the demo. All the bakes can be frozen so get ahead with some Christmas cooking!
About Vicki: Vicki created the Free From Fairy two years after her daughter was diagnosed with coeliac disease (following egg and milk protein allergies as a baby). She never wanted her to miss out on any food so used her science degree combined with her love of baking to recreate every recipe which she then published on her website. In 2016 she launched a wholegrain rice-free gluten free flour blend and in 2020 brought out a bread mix too.
